I’ve gotten several responses here about how men can be victims too, in various ways, and that’s certainly true; there are many problems in the world that need addressing, and pointing out one obviously doesn’t mean there shouldn’t be attention to another or that either isn’t valid and worthy of discussing. The essay does link to a CDC report on male deaths and male suicide and counseling, and how encouraging men to get counseling without a stigma could help them. If women are encouraged to seek counseling then certainly more-accessible counseling (for depression, anger, or what have you) could help men too.
